The Founder, The Story…

From Pain to Purpose: The Journey Behind Echo Impact

Some people create charities from a business plan.
Echo Impact was born from something far deeper — the lived experiences, heartbreaks, and awakenings of a life tested, broken open, and rebuilt on love.

The First Seeds of Compassion

My journey towards helping others began long before I realised it. At 11 years old, I lost my grandad — an event that planted a seed in my heart. Over the years, I would lose more family members to illness and disease, and with every loss came questions. Why does this happen? What truly causes suffering?

I began learning about herbal remedies, fascinated by the healing power of nature, and I came to a realisation that has never left me: all disease begins with dis-ease in the mind. I saw how a mind burdened by hardship — like that of someone homeless or living under society’s crushing systems — can manifest illness in the body. That truth shaped everything I would later do.

The Collapse That Saved Me

The biggest turning point of my life came when a certain ‘something’ in my life drawn to an end. I had been losing myself long before this ‘something’ collapsed, but I couldn’t seem to find my way out. When it ended, I was forced to face myself—to strip away everything that wasn’t me.

It was painful. But in that pain, I was reborn. I became a soul and a body embodied by love. That’s why I believe pain and suffering are necessary for true growth. They burn away the old so the new can rise. And once you become, you never go back.

Losing Everything to Gain What Matters

There was a time when I was living a very different life. I ran a successful business turning over more than £1,000,000 a year. I was deep in the material world—successful on paper, but slowly becoming someone I didn’t recognise.

When it all fell apart, I lost everything: my company, my warehouse, my sense of stability and someone close. I battled with my mental health and faced mistreatment that tested my spirit. But in losing it all, I discovered what was truly unshakable: my ability to rise again.

The Awakening

My journey truly began when I rediscovered love—for myself and for others. Love is the key to life. I wouldn’t erase any part of my story—the gains, the losses, the relationships, the heartbreak—because every experience was a teacher.

Today, I no longer think in terms of “good” or “bad.” I think in terms of peace. Whatever comes, I will meet it with that peace.

One truth I carry always is this: there are no coincidences. Everything happens for a reason, even if I’m still learning how free will fits into the picture. Life is guided. Love is the compass.

What Business Taught Me About People

Even in my earlier ventures, I learned that the way you treat people matters more than anything else. If a delivery driver came to my warehouse, I’d hand them a bottle of water. If a member of staff seemed down, I’d look after them. If the sun was shining, we’d stop and enjoy it.

I’ve been to the bottom—on anti-depressants, watching my company close—but I know now I can bounce back from anything. Life will always have ups and downs. What matters is how you meet them.

The Flash That Became Echo Impact

The idea for Echo Impact didn’t arrive as a plan. It was a flash in my mind—a gift from somewhere higher. And when it came, I knew it was my purpose.

I’d done small pieces of community work before, but this was different. This was focused. It felt right to create something lasting, something that could ripple outwards for years to come. That’s what Echo Impact is—the ripple effect of one thought, one act of kindness, growing into a tree of impact that will never stop branching upward.

Love as a Life Mission

In my book, I write that:

Love is the light that illuminates all things—the radiant day within the soul. Hate is merely the shadow cast by the mind when it turns away from truth. Where light is present, darkness cannot remain; yet even in the deepest darkness, the smallest light will endure. Light is eternal—it is the essence of love, and it always prevails.

My writing and my charity are two parts of the same mission: to serve, to inspire, to bring light. Spirituality, love, compassion, and service are not separate things—they are the same current flowing through everything I do.

Echo Impact is just one way I can share that current with the world. It is a home for every act of kindness, a channel for love to reach the places it’s needed most.

And like every ripple, it starts with just one person.
It started with me.
It can continue with you.
